Looking for kid magic tricks? You've come to the right place.
Maybe recently you noticed that your kid or a favorite nephew has taken to magic in a big way. He's glued to the TV screen with eyes full of excitement every time a magic show comes on. He imitates his favorite magicians and tries to perform some of the tricks he saw (but sadly without success). In this case, kid magic tricks or a magic kit is the perfect gift to get him for his next birthday. Make his dreams come true. Help him to be the magician he wants to be. Watch his little face light up with pride and enjoyment as he performs amazing tricks to fool and entertain his friends. He'll be the talk of the town (or at least your neighborhood)! Magic is really a wonderful hobby for kids. It can help them develop public speaking skills, manual dexterity and self-confidence. It can also stimulate their thinking, creativity and imagination. Magic is a hobby that your kid will never outgrow, unlike other regular toys. It simply grows with your kid as he achieves higher skill levels. Who knows? Your kid may even grow up to be the next David Copperfield or Lance Burton and make it a lucrative career. In fact, many of today's top magicians and illusionists can trace their early start in magic back to the time when a favorite uncle or grandfather pulled a coin out of their ears, or gave them a box of kid magic tricks. Keep these useful tips in mind when shopping for kid magic tricks: Check the "Recommended Age Group" of the magic kit. Find one that matches your kid's age. This is to avoid getting tricks that are too difficult for your kid to perform. Look for high-quality props and packaging. Ensure that the props look sturdy enough to withstand handling by an active kid. Sometimes magic kits are endorsed by a famous magician, with the magician's name and picture displayed on the box. These are often of better quality. It can also be motivating if it happens to be the kid's favorite magician. Some magic kits have a packaging box that can double as a performing table. Some come with a top hat and a magic wand. These extra props will help your kid to look the part without having to buy them separately. When buying more than one magic kit, try to compare the trick list (if listed on the outside) to avoid having a lot of duplicate tricks. Help your kids learn and practise the tricks well before putting on a show. There is nothing more damaging to a kid magician than being embarrassed in front of all his friends.

The glide is my favorite sleight of hand.
This sleight is a very useful way of keeping the bottom card of the deck on the bottom, while the casino audience thinks you are dealing it to the table or handing it to someone. Actually, you deal the second card from the bottom. Once you master the glide, you can invent your own card dealing tricks. Step 1 For this sleight we will assume the Ace of Hearts is the bottom card of the deck. We will make the audience think your are dealing it to the table. Hold the pack in your left hand with your thumb on one side and your first three fingers along the other. Your little finger supports the pack as you show it to the audience. (Figure 1) Step 2 Lightly holding the cards, turn your hand down, at the same time moving your fingertips onto the face of the Ace of Hearts (the bottom card). In the same movement, use your finger to pull back the Ace of Hearts (the bottom card). Remember your hand should be in the palm down position, and you only want to pull back the Ace of Hearts just enough to give your right hand access to the second card from the bottom. (Figure 2) Your goal is to only pull back the bottom card. Keep practicing until you can move back only the bottom card. Step 3 Now that you have the Ace of Hearts pulled back (the bottom card), use your right hand fingertips to pull the 8 of Spades from the 'bottom' of the pack. Lay the 8 of Spades face down on the table. You just dealt the Ace of Hearts to the table while in fact keeping it where you want it - at the bottom of the pack! The glide is great for creating card dealing tricks on the fly or imprompt u magic. As a pageant titleholder, I’m known in my community as the girl who advocates volunteerism and speaks out on confidence issues in teens. I am simply one of the most straightforward, genuine people that you will ever meet. People look to me for advice on everything from ethics and social standards to last night’s calculus homework. I can’t tell a lie, and I’m always completely honest with everyone.
The majority of people who know me based upon my involvement with pageants have no idea that I’m also a magician (it’s just not what I’m known for... yet). People know me for standing onstage and speaking on the importance of role models or the key elements of motivation. But a lot of times, when I get offstage, I’ll perform an effect for an unsuspecting individual. I’ll use any trick, but my favorites under these conditions are those that don’t look like your stereotypical magic tricks. I love anything that uses ordinary, everyday items, especially if they are readily available (at a banquet? Bend some forks!). What I love most about doing this is that people don’t realize that I’m deceiving them. They truly believe that what they have seen is real, and they are speechless. They just stare. Suddenly I have created something in their minds that is very real and very magical. The simple illusion that I have performed has become the true manifestation of awe and wonderment in their eyes. When people feel that they know every bit of your mind because you have presented it to them with candid emotion and deep feeling, it gives you a great deal of integrity. This is what I use to instill trust in people so that when the time is right, I can genuinely take their breath away. I have studied a great deal of psychology, and it has taught me that your sleight of hand isn’t always the most important part of your performance. The most valuable element in any effect is your ability to make the spectator mentally accept what you have done as the cold hard truth. As a performer, you can apply tons of psychology and use it to your advantage. Psychological influences have become the sole basis for all the magic that I do. For this reason, I absolutely love performing one-on-one. I find it easiest to reveal my deepest nature when I’m alone with somebody, and it gives me the ability to really get a grasp on their thoughts and emotions. I am completely open, and I actually believe right along with them that what’s happening is real. I’ve found that in order to be successful in moving others, you must first be in touch with your own emotions. What moves you? If you truthfully answer this simple question and are completely straightforward in your response, you will find what can stir the wonder and emotions of just about every spectator out there. Practice your magic and find what takes your own breath away. Now perform that magic, allowing yourself to be as moved as you want everyone else to be. One human’s perception and expression feeds off of another’s. All you have to do as the performer is initiate the feeling. Once you have done so, your spectator will open up, allowing you to radiate energy off of each other as it magnifies. Emotion is the most beautiful result of any astonishment you evoke, so play it up. Be in touch with your own emotions, and with time you will find your audience doing the same. |
